Lesson for today - make sure that you remember to switch your camera away from timer mode after shooting stars the night before. Otherwise you will end up with your beautiful Crested Tit in silhouette only, if at all.

Also had a lovely sighting of Black Grouse lekking today. We didn't see any hens but the males were all strutting about, fanning their tails and getting fiesty. Gorgeous! Then later on we saw one really close in in the sun. I hadn't realised what a beautiful sheen they have to their feathers. My first ever Black Grouse and worth the wait.
