Faded smiles, full of hope
We decided to go for a walk this afternoon, after quite a lazy morning, and popped over to Dad's so that he could come too. Dad lives close to the Maltings, the oldest iron framed building in the world, so we wandered over and took some photos behind the barbed wire of the soon-to-be renovated building. At the front there were some murals that had been painted by the local schools about the Maltings and its history. Unfortunately these have been left to the elements and most of them had completely disappeared but I liked the hopeful faces that remained on this one. This is a renovation project that has been in and out of the press for many years - in fact my husband (who is Shropshire born and bred) told me that they have been trying to renovate the building since he was at school! He's now 51. Let's hope the latest project comes to fruition as it's an amazing piece of local history.
