Blackcap
On my way back from the shops I looked in on the the Gulley (which is what the kids called the area where our pond should be) to see how things were. The ground is covered with maturing plants, principally nettles with grasses, campion and garlic mustard. The pond area is damp but, unsurprisingly, barren but for a few reeds.
This little blackcap was singing away in the tree and unwilling to sit still long enough for a composed shot, but I'm delighted to have caught it at all.
