Fracking, Shale Gas, Renewables, Energy Security..
I always feel a bit of a cheat when I blip this kind of thing, but it is just a reflection of my day, so I suppose it is a genuine journal entry.
Yoga and breakfast first, but the rest of the day so far has been given over to the two MOOCs I am studying; the homework for Critical Thinking was quite challenging but it's done. Don't think I'll bother with the Final Exam tho': those days are past .
The butler and I are enjoying the equally challenging Shale Gas and Fracking; Science and Politics course but suddenly it's everywhere! Like when you are pregnant and everyone else is; or you buy a new car and the roads are suddenly filled with that model ??? Everywhere we turn there are news articles(Sunday Herald), books(Energy by Paul Younger), TV programmes (Planet Oil), TED talks (David Mackay) Public meetings (GlasgowSkeptics) and online resources all devoted to discussions about our future energy needs. Talk about immersion!
We've declared school over for the day, so back to Peter May's novel "The Critic" to find out who has been murdering folk by pickling them in wine (Well worth the read!) Of course it may turn out to be a new sustainable energy source with none of the disadvantages! Pickled People? Better than Methane surely?
