Passing in Active Pass
This is a BC Ferry travelling between the Mainland and Vancouver Island. Ships leave from both sides every 2 hours in the winter and every hour in the summer. The mid-point of the journey is this pass between 2 islands. It is called Active Pass because HMS Active hit a rock and sank there a couple of hundred years ago. The ships are quite large, they can carry about 400 cars and 1,500 people.
