Husband Dear took a class to Chicago for a week-long field trip. As a consolation prize (I LOVE Chicago, alas Little Man was still in school so we all couldn't go), I got 5 of these delicious treats and a makowiec (Polish poppy seed cake, my very favorite).

A while back, Chicago sported a huge Polish population, second only to Warsaw. Not sure how the numbers stack up today, but the only difference between Chicago's Polish neighborhood and Warsaw is the currency in which you pay for things...
