James Bond in Studland?

He always seems to fancy himself as a bit of a stud doesn't he?

The property we've been staying in for the last few days was at one time a school.  One of its former pupils was Ian Fleming!

This was taken from Shell Beach which is at the end of the Studland Peninsula in Dorset opposite the very wealthy area of Sandbanks.  The beach is right next to the ferry which links the one side of Poole Harbour with the other across what is an amazingly narrow harbour entrance for the ships using the harbour.

We spotted these rather threatening black boats and one other moving rather sedately across the harbour but as soon as they were out of the entrance they were off into the distance at an incredible rate!  Where to?  Who knows?  Wherefore?  Who knows?

I don't but I'm coming up with some interesting speculations...
