Smashing!
Mr Tex got a used tv for the kids from someone he works with, so they were instructed to get the old one out to the dumpster (which is pretty far from the house), and throw it in. It was really heavy but they worked hard at it and I didn't have to help them until it came to the lifting it into the dumpster part.
And then....they got to smash it to pieces!...that maybe the highlight of their year so far! LOL
They were very safety conscious..... "we threw the big rocks over the side and ducked down beside the dumpster so we wouldn't get hit if it exploded....and we covered our ears cos it was really loud." (Im not sure what was louder, the rocks being thrown into the dumpster, or their shrieks of excitement each time) :0)
We inspected it post smashing and here are some of their observations:
the glass was really thick
it was realy hard to break it
'smoke' came out when it broke the first time
Now I need to find them a video online of how these old tv's work.
