Peaks of the Alpi Apuane

I consider myself very fortunate to have family with a home in the very beautiful Lunigiana region of Tuscany. Every May in the past 5 years I have been visiting for a long weekend break, and every year until this year it has been gloriously hot and sunny.

So on the first day of my visit this year I thought finding a subject for a blip would be simple. That was until we woke up to find cool cloudy conditions which soon delivered rain that got heavier and heavier for the remainder of the day.

Fortunately, before the rain started I took this photo of the view from the garden. Dominated by the peak of Pizzo d'Uccello at 1781m it is a special view even on a dull cloudy day.
