German Serenity
I started out my exchange year at an old monastery in a small town in the middle of Germany. It was beautiful and I surely enjoyed my time there, but after a couple of weeks living with 50 other exchange students I was becoming restless. Constantly surrounded by others without much time to myself, this small alley in between buildings was a safe haven for me. Finally a place where there were no grammar books, flash cards, and, most importantly, people. What a beautiful place to be able to relax in the rays of the sun and take my mind off of the stresses around me.
