Tudor stream

When I get interested in something it can become consuming and just now I'm absorbed in the Tudors with the weekly fix of Wolf Hall on telly and daily doses of the book. At the beginning of the book is a useful family tree that shows the line of Henry VIII, stretching back to his grandmother, Margaret Beaufort who just happened to live right here at Woking Palace by the side of the River Wey. The palace has gone now, apart from a short wall, a barrel vault, some fish ponds and part of the moat. Once, however, it was quite grand and was used by Henry VII, Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. It's nice to have somewhere nearby to enjoy those Tudor moments.

It's been a good place for owls too. Not this year though.

We overcame the pancake confusion by having pancakes again and all agreed it was a good decision. Still struggling over Lent and what to give up.
