Blue ice, pastel trees

In a still pool alongside the Missouri River, the closing light of a late winter day lays down an abstract patchwork of blues and the pastel reflections of bare trees.  These pools, situated between rocky wing-dikes, are a haven for water fowl of all sorts, and the occasional otter.
