In Memoriam

Another difficult week, with the death of my great friend and mentor, Dr. Richard Ward, without whom I would never have gained access behind the closed doors of the Chinese police, and therefore never written my China Thrillers.  You can read my tribute to him here.

Sometimes life is plain sailing.  Other times we navigate troubled waters.  In the end we always founder upon the rocks.  Somehow it was hard to imagine that ever happening to Dick.  The man was a force of nature in his own right.  It just makes our own mortality all the more real.
