Ripe for renovation...
...paused on the way to the Lakes to blip this derelict barn for derelict Thursday. It is near a couple of large renovations, and the farm itself has re-invented itself as a farm shop with an upmarket cafe/restaurant. This particular barn has been derelict for some time - but I would have thought it's a fixer upper... at least on the site, if not the edifice itself!
Almost blipped our smashed front light instead - hadn't got to Wetherby before a load of debris bounced off the road, and a 4inch bolt smashed through the fitting. As we still had working headlights, Dave suggested we carry on and take the car to a garage local to him to be fixed. Roy did a substantial bit of taping up and we made it OK - better than returning home, swapping everything into my car and setting out again! The car is now in a wonderful garage near Portinscale, and the parts are already on the way. A lovely spot of lunch and a walk near the lake with Dave & blipper Sue Middleton finished off the afternoon nicely. Off out for a meal tonight, and a gentle walk planned for tomorrow - what's not to like?
