Strip Tease

Scottish skiing at its best, yesterday's balmy temperatures stripped what snow remained at Cairngorm Mountain and this morning's high winds resulted in no skiing on offer. So we headed east to try out The Lecht.

It was also a little patchy but the wind was lower so that most tows and the chairlift were open. I've never skied at The Lecht before but it was definitely the poorer cousin of other nearby resorts.

Nevertheless, we got a few runs done between the heather and rocks.

In the afternoon I took the bike into Rothiemurchus forest and got lost, at one point having to cross a wide river on a fallen tree with the bike over my shoulder.

Time for a pint.
