Book museum
I was in London for an after work event in the new Kings Cross development. I had a couple of hours between arriving at Kings Cross and heading back past it to the event. Needing somewhere to sit and do some more work I headed to the British Library. It's the place to hot desk - there were laptops everywhere. It's an interesting space inside and the wall of bound volumes is an impressive hint of what must be hidden away in the rest of the place.
I did treat myself to some time to look round the exhibitions. One was about the search for the Northwest Passage with some cool old maps. I also looked round the 'treasures' room. It's strange seeing books that have survived from Saxon times.
The talks at the event were good, but the sneaky trip to the Britsh Library was the highlight.
