Alms Giving
A bunch of us got up at 5.30am while it was still dark and waited around on the street for the monks to arrive for the morning alms-giving. They each have a pot to collect offerings (mostly food) from a mixture of locals and tourists. It's a big event here in Luang Prabang but it was fairly overwhelming for me (and that's not just because I don't like mornings).
In the evening we went to a popular restaurant and had a tasting menu of local food which was really fantastic. We ended the night with a small party at the rented house of one of our group.
