York Street by foot

I drive along this street regularly but today I walked and saw this for the first time. No idea what the place names represent - destinations from the days when ships used to sail from Atlantic Quay at the end of the road perhaps? The concrete seats look really uncomfortable.
Just noticed I've mixed my dates up. Never mind...
