Calla Lilly

Early bloom this year.
Just one in the garden.
I like to think it's in celebration of my Mom softly saying today, "In this moment, I am pain free."
She was afraid to say it out loud.
I cried and I never cry.
I know it may not last long. I know that the pain will return.
We need to learn to live with the roller coaster.
But right now I am just so relieved that I want to put my head down and sleep for a little while.
