Blue Jay

I was most excited today about getting a picture of one of my favorite annual visitors ~ a Hermit Thrush ~ but while his photo is nice, in the end I liked this Blue Jay better for my blip. 

I'm chuffed about the Hermit Thrush because this is the third Winter I've seen it here. I've seen it three or four times this year, very briefly, poking around under the shrubbery behind our house, but it took the snow to get it to come around front and have some suet balls from a feeder and pose for a photo.

I also toyed with the idea of a photo from this morning's work at The Wildlife Center ~ an owl or an eagle ~ but the Blue Jay won.
