You Need Hands
I love holding hands. To me, it says "I like you" without words. It's an expression of closeness, a special connection as it were, and (in a strange kind of way) I think it's also quite an intimate thing to do. In my eyes, actions speak louder than words sometimes and if someone takes hold of your hand, they're not only giving you a special message, they're giving it out to everyone else too. Here's what an article in the New York Times published about hand holding
"Hand-holding is the one aspect that's not been affected by the sexual revolution," said Dalton Conley, a professor and chairman of the department of sociology at New York University. "It's less about sex than about a public demonstration about coupledom." To hold someone's hand is to offer them affection, protection or comfort. It is a way to communicate that you are off the market"
I once picked up the wrong signals because someone held my hand and I thought I meant more to the person than I actually did and, when everything went a little pear shaped, I ended up feeling a little hurt and foolish. I haven't been put off though and I'll always treasure that special moment when the person you like first takes hold of your hand and so today's tune is dedicated to the two girls in my photograph which was taken in Princes Street Gardens this morning.
Peace and love to you all and may your hand be forever held.
