Trapped!
JR got the baby doggy gate yesterday. It didn't fit because we needed an extension for the width of the door. I bought one on Amazon last night, and it was delivered this morning. How's that for service! Mind you, it was only coming from their huge depot over the Forth Bridge in Dunfermline.
Today was his two monthly groomer visit. Last time Craig wasn't too happy with his behaviour - which may have been caused by his sore private parts - but this time he was perfect. Craig is full of helpful advice about dealing with dogs in their 'teenage' years.
We tried a new cafe today and it was great. Quiet muzak of the Jazz variety, plus some real oldies. Excellent menu and the best chips ever.
When we came home I fitted the baby doggy gate and Archie checked it out. Not impressed. It's really for when we need the door open eg cooking, washing on the pulley etc. He's allowed out in the back green when we're also out there. So hopefully we'll all be able to make much more use of it this summer. Look out Tinkerbelle, the neighbour's cat - she's been ruling the roost out there all last summer.
We tried Archie in the car boot today. It's a hatchback, so not as bad as it sounds! Lots of people have suggested this to us. Partial success! He lay down, we could just hear the occasional big sigh. But he was quietly sick (on to newspaper) and kindly cleaned it up before we opened the boot. On the way home it was fine. We'll take him out again tomorrow. I think this might just be the answer with more practice.
He's smelling nice and looking very handsome in his new haircut. I need to decide if I'm going to do it next time...
