Golden eye

A glorious day in the Lake District, where the scenery is a feast for the soul and Lake Windermere has been utterly tranquil under a blue sky decorated with fluffy white cumulus.

We spent this morning having a fascinating outdoors talk on birds of prey and some close interaction with them, arranged by our hosts Renault. There were owls, falcons, hawks and a very sharp eyed, sharp beaked, glossy black rook. My favourite, though, was this beautiful golden-eyed Eagle Owl.

This afternoon was devoted to a very productive meeting between chairmen of regional motoring writers' groups, and a short presentation from organisers of the new London Motor Show. It is scheduled to take place in Battersea Park in June 2016.
