Tekapo

At Tekapo for the weekend with Adam, nice father and son time.  Good downtime; reading, battleships, fishing, and biking.
 
Today was mostly downtime … very relaxing. Today on the way out we drove up Mt John to check out the lake (and tourists) then back to the canals for a spot of fishing, and then home.
 
In some, respects today could have been introspective. Feb 22 marks 4 years since the big earthquake. Has the city made progress? Yes. Could we be further head? Maybe.
 
But really who prepares a city and a country for this sort of event. I think many of us more fortunate to not have big insurance issues, or to have lost loved ones, have carried on, and looked forward.
 
I’m not currently in a very philosophical frame of mind, so for me, it’s an important day, more so than many national holidays, but not something to dwell on. Focussing on other pressing issues, and  a need to get my own life back on track, business, not earthquake related!
