Goldcrest
I'm happy to post a blip that isn't technically as good as my flower shots today because, for me, the sight of a goldcrest is rare. I've certainly never photographed on until today. The goldcrest, and the very similar firecrest, are the UK smallest birds.
I think I had only seen one once before we hung out the coconut shell set with fat and seeds last month. Now we get this little visitor a couple of times a week.
So after a long day cleaning the holiday lodge I was glad to get this shot, even though it's through glass, and rain-speckled glass, at that, in the low light of late afternoon while it was snowing. I can still go back to the crocus another day.
