White Night
After the extreme crush of last year's White Night event (when we went in the evening and left by 11pm because we literally could not move), we opted to arrive just before 3am and leave when the sun rose. This was a much better strategy, though it involved getting up ridiculously early and now being very tired. The event was better organised I think, with more spaced out venues to ease the crush. But I do think it was not as spectacular as last year – the river was distinctly lacking in bridge lighting, which was a shame. But there were some really great things to see – I particularly liked a light and sound show of the lighting gantries in Hamer Hall - sounds odd, but it was like nothing I'd ever seen before.
Just as the sky began to lighten, we came across this fire breathing dragon.
