The Challenge - lead male

This serious young man has the important job of letting the cheering supportive crowd know when the lead male runner is coming.  It is not the guy in the photo who does not have a number.  Perfect day for the race. A cool start then heating up. I spend some time hosing across the road to the runners who were generally delighted (only one indicated no  spray). My aim was to give the runners the option. Straight ahead and you missed the spray, slightly to the side for the cooling mist.
