Budget Breaking (2015.042)

Valentine's Day. An awful institution designed to sell unnecessary stuff and make people feel bad.

We went through a phase of ignoring it, until Emma came to us in tears asking if - since we had ignored "the day of love" - we were getting divorced.

So now we try to buy the most anti-sentimental cards we can. And I personally try to ensure that the least possible amount of money goes to the greetings card sharks.

Unfortunately this year, I needed to go over budget slightly!
