A new stream

I don't think there is any doubt that rainfall is increasing in the West of Scotland, both in volume and intensity.   That is the reality of climate change here.  

The well reported problems at the "Rest & Be Thankful " are an example of the damage these changes are doing  and this is another - a new stream bursting its way out through a small culvert under our access track and across our back field after this morning's torrential downpour.   

This spring I had already decided that we would have to put in a number of new field drains because of the accumulation of water in various places.  This sight not only confirms the plan but underlines the fact that were are getting more flooding and in places we have never seen it before .
