What I'm reading

Usually, I read half-a-dozen books at the same time. I have a very wide taste, so I will have a novel, a travelogue, a textbook, a biography, maybe a history book, and an anthology, or perahps an e-book, sometimes in different places. There are several books by my bedside, and another shelf beside my favourite chair. There will be books in the conservatory and a book in the study, so wherever I feel like sitting, I can pick up a book and carry one reading where I left off. My current fascination is a biography of Colonel Colin MacKenzie, ex of Stornoway, who became the first Governor-General of India and a fabulous collector and scholar of Indian culture.
