Ightham Mote
Only just caught the ferry home, due to ridiculous passport control queues at Calais. Needless to say, we were waved through with barely a glance, but every car and van in front of us taking about ten minutes each.
Once through, we sped through the port and onto the ferry - which was crammed full of every school trip teenager who had been to Europe for half term: there were thousands upon thousands of them (if not more).
To be fair, they were all pretty well behaved really (although they are not very good at queuing patiently yet) - but the sheer number of them was really rather daunting.
Anyway, once back in Kent, we popped into Ightham Mote - to make use of National Trust membership cards. Charlie wasn't very keen on looking at the place in much detail so it was a short trip, a ham sandwich, then back on the road to home.
