There's a period of time starting about 2mins after a race when oxygen starts to re enter the brain and endorphins surge. A minute before it neither looks or feels good. A minute before  Ben Shepherd here was doubled over, a minute later he was making excuses about not hearing junior cheer him across the line.

This morning was fun, on duty for those cuts and bruises sustained by the brave and foolish at the Ilkley Moor Fell Races.
