Up Close & Personal

Two days ago I blipped a Turkey Vulture flying overhead. Today I was fortunate to get a rather personal shot of a roosting vulture just before it flew off to join the other vultures already soaring on the thermals above my yard. Looking up at this large bird and remembering the unpleasantness I reported on two days ago, I realized how fortunate I was that nothing fell earthward onto my person. These birds get a bad reputation for their dining  habits but they perform an invaluable service to all of us.
