Rekyjavik

A cold, cold day today with a fierce wind. This morning we had an amazing experience at Laugardalslaug thermal pools, only a short walk from our hotel. We went in the open air thermal pools in a temperature of -5* while the snow landed on our heads, but the water was a glorious 38* then we swam in the bigger pool which was 28*. The snow on our heads must have adjusted our brains a bit as we thought it was a good idea to get out of the pool, walk across the snow and climb the completely iced over steps of the slide, then slide into the pool, over the snow!! It was great fun!!
After a walk back to the hotel and a cup of tea we walked into Reykjavik city centre, along the sea front where we saw this work of art. Then after a stop for lunch at The Laundromat Cafe - a really quaint place - we went to a museum exploring Viking history. Taxi back to the hotel, where I am now relaxing, whilst JP, Bek and Ry go back into town.
