Spring Violets
A morning walk at Little Addington was filled with the sounds of sky larks high in the sky - one of my favourite sounds and a sure sign spring is on it way. A couple of reed buntings sat still on the hedge top giving us a clear view of their black beards and bibs. Then I went over to visit Mum. Just after lunch I was on my way back to Hampshire in the rain on the motorway. It was a slow journey but I am grateful to be home safely and in the warm with some time to rest before Monday. These flowers are on a lampshade in my bedroom. They remind me of violets which grow in the woodlands in the spring - I haven't seen any yet this year but hopefully they are a pleasure to come.
