Running Out of Steam

Such a busy day!

T and I were up at 8am, pleasantly surprised that it was bright and sunny. We got showered and ready- I take forever to do hair, make-up etc, and T usually uses this time to fiddle about on the computer- sensible boy! You can't rush a girl when she's getting ready ;-)

We made breakfast, and then the two of us and T's housemate watched Bear Grylls, Born Survivor. I was actually rather fascinated, although some of his survival techniques left me wanting to toss my cookies... I ended up almost falling asleep while we watched, and just felt shattered again and it was only 11am! I have never felt so tired!

We decided to have a stroll along Southbank, and go for a lunch at a place called Albion. T took his mum and sisters there for breakfast and said it was a really good place, so I was keen to find out. Unfortunately the weather was now cloudy, freezing, and extremely windy! So it was a rather chilly twenty minute walk!

The place was nice, but we were too late for breakfast, so we each had soup and a sandwich. We walked back to Waterloo, in the drizzle, and I realised how breathless I have become. Unfit? Perhaps. Gym tends to focus on strength and flexibility, and learning the tricks, rather than cardio and interval training.

I got home, unpacked, then went to see mum and Little B. And then I fell asleep on the sofa and skipped the gym. I feel really guilty when I don't go, and then felt like I should have gone.

I'm feeling a bit blue about the return to school tomorrow, as I'm sure millions of other teachers are! But in some ways it will be better to get back into a routine, as much as I don't want to go, I've felt a bit aimless this week.

I'm a little bit unsettled, despite having a lovely weekend with T and friends. I'm going to back blip for Friday, and that might help to explain why.
