European Robin

Had some meetings in Helsinki today and visited afterwards Vanhankaupunginlahti, a great bird habitat . Not much other pictures than this robin (punarinta).

Robin is of course very common and my understanding is that it's more like a garden bird and therefore used to people and easy to photograph. However, here up north it lives mostly in the woods and is actually quite difficult to approach. At least I've not managed to do it here at home. But this is a city bird and problably another story. Besides, it has food for its spouse or even the babies already. Maybe the nest was somewhere close and it just waited me to pass. Anyways, this simple picture with couple of others of the same bird basically made my day.
