Wound up in Wexford

Doggy love

Back blipping this on Monday morning.  My youngest was with us for the night - and for lunch today.

When Fido first came to live with us, he was quite antisocial - he had been in rescue kennels for 3 months, with no-one caring to take on a dog who was not at all affectionate.  We went to the kennels to adopt a dog, and ended up coming away with 2.  One was a little Yorkshire Terrier X called Holly, who was very affectionate, and the girls loved.  But my husband wanted to take on a dog that was "a bit difficult" as we felt we had the experience and the time for one of that type.

Once home, Fido was initially difficult - he had no idea how to interact with humans, but with help from the girls, especially Zoe, he very rapidly became the loving dog that he now is.  But he hated the cars!  Holly, on the other hand, loved to ride in his cars, so became very much Nigel's dog.  Nigel would often go away for short trips, taking Holly, and leaving Fido with the girls and me.  The two dogs were never particularly affectionate to each other, rarely playing together.

So when I split up from Nigel, Holly stayed with him, and I took Fido to live with me.  He remains the nicest, most affectionate dog, loved by all who meet him.
