It's just not cricket

A busy little day on Saturday - but a pleasurable one.

Finished preparing my worship service for Sunday morning (most of it had been done on Friday), off to the football in the afternoon (a fine, and relatively straightforward, 2-0 win for the Bairns over Livingston) and then a Burns' Supper at Clackmannan Country Cricket Club in the evening.

One of my friends is on the committee and he and his wife had done much of the organising of what turned out to be a very enjoyable evening. The dinner of soup, haggis, steak pie and apple pie was delicious, the speeches and toasts were amusing and interesting - possibly the best Immortal Memory I have heard, both in content and delivery - and the company was good.

Pity I was driving (and of course had a church service to lead the following morning) and so drank Ginger Beer all night, but really cannot complain. A fine night was had by all.
