Groningen

It was a pleasant afternoon at aunt Bets, Saturday.
When we walked through the centre of Groningen, we saw paintings of the Martini tower. The tower protrudes above the other buildings. You can see it from afar also because of the flatness of the countryside up in the north.

When you climb the spiral staircase of the tower you are able to see the Wadden Sea when the weather is clear.

The tower is important for de people of Groningen. I´ve lost that sentiment, although a quarter of a century ago I wanted to live closer as I did at that time, which was just one street away from the tower.
