After a few applications I thought
Qn. "Damn that's THICK, what if I put some on the end of the nail"

It, also, never hurt quite as bad again. The nail didn't seem to be growing and one day, when cutting the rest, I thought I'd take a little off that one.
WRONG! That one came off, revealing the sight you see.
Needless to say I'll keep you (both) informed.
