To Stratify

There was a time (many years ago) when I could have explained the delights of the almost vertical attitude of the slate rock, seen here. 

 Now however, although the rocks are part of the Ordovician Manx Slate Series, of much greater interest is the apparent skill of the unknown stone mason who constructed the surmounting stone wall.  

Look how the slate wall has been fitted in to the rock foundation.  That is a work of art!.
