Hyacinths

Back to school for BB today, and back to work for me.  He went off to breakfast club quite happily.  Since he started school, he has gone to school dinners almost every day, apart from a few minor dalliances with packed lunches - he just prefers having a hot meal at lunchtime.  Today he has ditched school dinners for packed lunches.  In Scotland all p1-p3 children are entitled to a free school lunch, which I think is a great idea (even though we have missed out as BB is in p4).  However this has had a real knock on effect on the rest of the children in the school and on what is on offer.  They have to queue and wait much longer which means that they have less time for playing outside after they have finished their lunch; the choice has reduced; the quality of the meals is not what it was and they regularly run out of things.  BB has had enough!   However it will be interesting to see how long he goes before he is fed up with sandwiches every day.

Work for me was a day of catching up and chasing my tail.  I was glad to leave the office tonight.
