Chickpea soup

My brother and family gave me Hugh Fearnly-Whittingstall's latest book for Christmas, though I only got it at the weekend!  I suspect it was my sister-in-law's choice as my brother is useless and she knows I love to cook.  I don't have any books of his, and was quite impressed with some of the recipes he is offering! 

I had no food in the house tonight, apart from all the ingredients for this chickpea soup so gave it a whirl.  The only thing I didn't have was vegetable stock so had to make it with chicken stock instead.  Was quite nice but will try next time with the chicken stock, and see if that is better.
