Super ceiling

During our stay in Funchal, we attended two concerts played by the Classical Orchestra of Madeira. Both were wonderful, with contributions from world-famous conductors and soloists! They were held in Funchal's theatre that was built in the 1880s and originally named the Dona Maria Pia Theatre, after a member of the Portuguese royal family. Later, however, it was renamed, called after a 16th century poet from Madeira, the Municipal Theatre of Baltazar Dias. I couldn't resist taking a photo of the amazing ceiling.
