Newport Street .....

.... in the centre of Bolton.  The orange barriers and the coned off areas are where the trees were cut down.  At the end of Newport street you can see the War memorial(white) which is opposite the Town Hall. I took the photo from this end to show the 3 elephants which are also going.  These painted fibre glass elephants replaced much nicer unpainted concrete elephants in 2006 I think.  The old ones having been there since the 1980s.  Elephants are very important to Bolton. (that story is for another time! I have to feed us!)
