A Snowy adventure

We bought "buy on get one free" day passes for the Portes du Soleil yesterday so we were on the 8.30 this morning. Sadly it didn't manage to get up the hill into the village because of the icy road so we had to walk in our ski boots carrying our skies. When I got to the ticket barrier it refused to let me through and to my dismay I discovered my pass was not in my jacket. The buses had stopped running now so we buried our skies in the snow and walked back up the 1 kilometre hill home.
Setting off in the car at 10.30 and armed with my pass we skied through Les Gets and Morzine took the petite train to the other side of Morzine, up the telecabin to Avoriaz skied to La Brochette up the lift to Switzerland - hot chocolate, down to Les Crosets then back to France into Chatel and to my favourite lunch stop Chez Denis. Sadly he was completely full. The pistes were bumpy, our legs tired, the snow falling, the light flat so I couldn't see the bumps. Thankfully we got to Les Lindarets for lunch at 3 o clock then down to Ardent for a bus back to Morzine, through Morzine, through Les Gets and back to the car - phew.
The best part of the day was this evening, taking this close up photo of my Martini and drinking it in front of the fire.
