Business Person of the Year

Adele and I drove to Portland and Wallerawang, two small towns not far from Lithgow.
Both towns, but especially Wallerawang, are dilapidated and sad.

The owner of this shop in Portland, one Elsie Grove, was at one stage Business Person of the Year, in 2000, as evidenced by the sign on the window.  
I doubt it's operated as a shop since then.
It's all very sad, and a story which is repeated in small country towns all over Australia.

We finished off the fun with a hamburger and middy at the Wallerawang Bowlo.
