Reelin' them in

Just as well The Philospopher wasn't at Kilbirnie loch tonight. He gets freaked out by the thought of anything in the water that is smaller and more capable of swimming than Fiona. So discussion of pike, trout and perch would not have gone down well.

A perfect night for swimming. Chris McG, Warren, Chris T, Peter and Douglas made it to the end of the loch and back. Fiona and I went to the end of the buoys then back to shore. I then followed her lead and ditched my suit before we swam across the bottom and back. 2k swim plus floating about enjoying the experience was all done in 50 minutes. It could have been the warmest swim we have ever had in the open water. Even taking the caps off didn't lead to any brain freeze. Perfect.

Roll on Loch Lomond 6.15am tomorrow. Somehow I think it will be a few degrees colder and we won't manage as much without the wetsuits. But the serious business of non-wetsuit Channel training starts now!
