Malachite

Hair crystals of Malachite (Copper Ore) from the Black Forest, Germany. Getting really macro now! The whole specimen is 4 x 3mm, photographed at 3 x life size. Lighting was simply available light through the window. This is number 133 in my collection of minerals, mostly from old mine spoil heaps. Who said 'Nature has no straight lines'? Crystals in good condition can be full of them! And they are easier to photograph than beetles!
